Week 6 of the NFL season will begin with an AFC West showdown between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. Intra-division games are a breeding ground for surprisingly competitive contests at times, and the forecast for tonight only further complicates picking a side in this matchup.
Ahead of kickoff, the Chiefs are favored by 10.5 points on the spread. The game total is set at over/under 47 points. If choosing to wager instead on the player prop market, we have three prop leans for tonight’s matchup!

Broncos vs. Chiefs Player Props for TNF
- Patrick Mahomes u2.5 Passing Touchdowns
- Skyy Moore u23.5 Receiving Yards
- Marquez Valdes-Scantling Less Than 1.5 Receptions
Patrick Mahomes u2.5 Passing Touchdowns (-162), FanDuel
According to the industry’s leading meteorologist, Kevin Roth, the forecast tonight in Kansas City has sustained winds of 15-to-20 miles-per-hour, with gusts up to 30 miles-per-hour possible. There is also a chance of rain in this contest, which could further impact both team’s ability to throw the football on Thursday evening. Patrick Mahomes is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL, but he is yet to master control of the weather – at least to my knowledge. Three passing touchdowns on a short week in adverse weather conditions is a tall order. The under has a good chance to hit here.
Skyy Moore u23.5 Receiving Yards (-110), Bet365
Across the last two weeks, Skyy Moore has compiled only two total receptions for 11 receiving yards. He has only four targets during that stretch of action and has seen his snap count reduced in consecutive games. Entering play in Week 6, Moore ranks fourth on the team in targets and fifth in receiving yards. On a night in which it is going to be difficult to throw the football downfield, Moore is unlikely to be heavily involved in the offensive game plan.
NFL DFS Pick’em
Marquez Valdes-Scantling Less Than 1.5 Receptions, PrizePicks
In five games played this season, Marquez Valdes-Scantling is yet to record more than two catches in a single contest. He has been targeted no more than twice in any of the last three games, and he has not recorded multiple receptions in a game since Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. On Thursday night, weather conditions are not forecasted to be conducive to passing, which further limits the potential involvement of Valdes-Scantling in the Kansas City offense. Do not expect a strong showing from him this evening.
