Thursday Night Football is back with another mid-week matchup, this time featuring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills. Baker Mayfield and company have enjoyed a surprisingly acceptable beginning to the new campaign, with a 3-3 record through seven weeks. Buffalo entered 2023 with Super Bowl aspirations, but a myriad of injuries has caused them to drop two of their last three contests.
Ahead of kickoff, the Bills are favored by 9 points on the spread. The game total is set at over/under 43.5 points. If choosing to wager instead on the player prop market, we have three prop leans for tonight’s matchup!

Buccaneers vs. Bills Player Props for TNF
- Chris Godwin o50.5 Receiving Yards
- Baker Mayfield o21.5 Completions
- Josh Allen More Than 0.5 Interceptions
Chris Godwin o50.5 Receiving Yards (-120), PointsBet
Since linebacker Matt Milano was placed on injured reserve for the Bills, Buffalo’s defense has struggled mightily to cover the middle of the field. Baker Mayfield has a clear favorite option between the numbers and his name is Chris Godwin. According to PFF, Godwin has caught 19 of 22 targets thrown his way between the numbers within 15 yards of the line of scrimmage this season. Godwin has at least six catches and at least 66 receiving yards in each of his last three games played. Godwin was technically on Tampa Bay’s injury report this week, but was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday, which is a good sign for his health on Thursday Night Football. This is one of the best available lines on the board for this evening.
Baker Mayfield o21.5 Completions (-120), BetMGM
Entering play on Thursday, Baker Mayfield has eclipsed this market number three times in six games, with one game in which he had exactly 21 completions. Only against the Philadelphia Eagles did Mayfield have fewer than 19 completions in a game so far this fall. Tonight, Mayfield has a favorable matchup against a Buffalo defense that had the third-lowest pressure rate of any team in the NFL in Week 7. Across the last three weeks, Buffalo’s defense ranks 28th in DVOA. Per Rich Hribar, the Bills have played over 200 snaps without any of Matt Milano, DaQuan Jones, or Tre’Davious White on the field this year. In that sample, the Bills rank 24th in yards allowed per play, 30th in opponent quarterback rating, 29th in defensive success rate, and 32nd in third-down rate. Mayfield should have every opportunity to hit the over in this spot.
NFL DFS Pick’em
Josh Allen More Than 0.5 Interceptions, PrizePicks
Josh Allen has a big arm, but sometimes it’s too big for his own good. Allen has consistently made poor decisions with the football throughout his NFL career, and has an irrational focus on throwing to Stefon Diggs in coverage at times. Allen has thrown an interception in three consecutive games and has seven total interceptions in seven games played so far in 2023. It would be far from a shock if he made another errant pass again this evening against the Buccaneers.
