Best CBB Bets, Expert Picks for Tuesday
16. Texas A&M CC vs. 16. Texas Southern (-3.5, O/U 135.5)
Time: 6:45 ET
TV: TruTV
PICK: Trevian Tennyson Under 15.4 Fantasy Points
Based on Trevian’s current bench role, this number is way too high (I have his median projection around 7-8 fantasy points at 12 minutes). Trevian is the highest usage player on the team but he has effectively been replaced by Jalen Jackson. Trevian played only 7 minutes in their last game, and then only 14 and 20 the previous two games before that. Even if he gets a bit extra run than the last couple games, we are still in good shape here. This is a break even play at 25 minutes and considering he is averaging around 13 in his last three game this is a really advantageous spot here. I will be rotating this under throughout my PrizePicks action for Tuesday. – Alex Hardin
12. Indiana vs. 12. Wyoming (+4, O/U)
Time: 9:10 ET
TV: TruTV
PICK: Wyoming Cowboys +4 (-110)
Indiana went from a bubble team with almost no good wins to in the tournament and favored by 4 points over a really, really good Wyoming team. BartTorvik is in line with the 4 point spread, but KenPom has this as just a 1 point game, and I think that’s a more accurate representation. I’m of the opinion that the Mountain West is underrated and the Big Ten is overrated, and this matchup is a great example of that. The frontcourts sort of neutralize each other in this one, but Hunter Maldonado is just a unicorn archetype of a player with his size and facilitating (6’7 and 10th in the country in assist rate). Indiana has a strong defense, but they have been a bit susceptible to some spot up shooting, which is what Maldonado is built to see up for Wyoming’s shooters around him. On the other side, Xavier Johnson has been great of late, but forgive me if I don’t want to trust him in a must win game against a really good defense. – Erik Beimfohr
