CFB DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Week 1
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Kyron Drones
MrTuttle05: Kyron Drones
stlcardinals84: Kyron Drones
Jordan Vanek: Kyron Drones
With a fairly large slate and a lot of popular plays likely to develop due to early-season pricing, how do you plan to handle the chalk?
headChopper: I’ll just eat the chalk and go over the field. Maybe this season breaks differently than the last two, but over the past couple of years, the CFB DFS chalk has smashed, and you were left out of the cash line if you faded most of it. I’ll make sure I’m overweight on all the chalk that I deem to be good chalk, like LeQuint Allen, Oronde Gadsen II, etc.
MrTuttle05: Overall, I’ll be underweight on the chalk, but lineups that have exposure to it, I’ll look to force a more unique construction, like I mentioned above.

stlcardinals84: The completely obvious chalk is hard to avoid. I don’t see a reason to be underweight on players like LeQuint Allen and Kyron Drones, for example. Barring injury, it’s difficult to see either player “busting” for their given salary. I’m more apt to be underweight on some WR chalk given that there is more variance at that position.
Jordan Vanek: I will be eating the chalk on LeQuint Allen because no one in his price range offers as much upside. As for Kyron Drones, I’ll aim to be close to the field given the size of the slate. While there may be running backs priced below Allen who outscore him, if they’re under 5% owned, it won’t have a significant impact. I expect Drones to be chalky, but Bhayshul Tuten will likely also have high ownership. As a result, Drones failing would be far more detrimental to your lineups.
What’s your hot take of the slate?
