As we get into late November, how does the CFB weather factor into your process? How much of an impact does it have for you?

headChopper: It’s funny – we go months without even thinking about Kevin Roth (respectfully, of course), and then this time of year hits and we’re sitting around waiting for that Friday weather report for college football because it actually matters. I’m definitely looking at weather for reasons to bump players down this time of year. We already have such a big player pool on main slates. Wind is a big deal for QBs at this level, as some just don’t have the same arm strength as NFL QBs, and it can really affect them. Most weather doesn’t matter, but anything that impacts the ball in the air – like wind – or creates ball-security issues can be enough to eliminate a guy from my player pool.

MrTuttle05: I love Kevin Roth’s work, but MLB is the only sport where I manually make adjustments for weather based on PPD % or a potential in-game delay. With football, I let betting markets do the work for me – if weather is expected to impact the game, it will be reflected in the total, which will ultimately dictate my exposure to the game through decreased projections.

stlcardinals84: We aren’t really looking at huge snow impacts yet. Wind is the main factor right now, and it’s definitely a concern for offenses that rely on the higher air-yards approach. If there is a game with winds of 20+ mph, I will bump down their QB/WR options – but otherwise, I don’t utilize the weather as a major factor just yet.

Jordan Vanek: Weather is always a factor this time of year, but wind is the one thing I take most seriously – and only if it’s expected to last the entire game. As we get deeper into the winter, I’ll stay locked in on wind, snow, rain – all of it – and lean heavily on Roth’s report to determine when it actually impacts my builds.

What’s your hot take of the slate?
