Chargers vs. Chiefs – NFL Player Props

Gus Edwards OVER 35.5 Rushing Yards (-110, FanDuel)

Simply, this is a very low market number for Gus Edwards, who is by all accounts still the Chargers’ No. 1 running back heading into this matchup. Edwards paced Los Angeles with 6 carries for 32 rushing yards last week against Atlanta in a game that they ran only 46 plays. For context, the Chargers ran at least 56 plays in each of their previous 7 games since their bye. Edwards should see at least 10 attempts tonight, giving him a great chance to get the job done.

Ladd McConkey UNDER 5.5 Receptions (-146, FanDuel)

Ladd McConkey has recorded at least 6 receptions in each of his last 3 games, but he had fewer than 6 receptions in 8 of his 9 prior contests and enters play this evening with legitimate health concerns. According to Ian Rapoport, McConkey is dealing with an AC joint injury in his shoulder and a sprained knee, which led to him being limited all week at practice. Kansas City’s pass defense has regressed since their bye, but they have struggled more to contain big plays than they have on a down-to-down basis. There are a number of ways in which McConkey could end up under this number this evening.

Kimani Vidal OVER 14.5 Rushing Yards (-120, BetMGM)

Kimani Vidal had 4 rush attempts last week for 20 yards against the Falcons, a game in which the Chargers had only 24 minutes and 5 seconds of possession and ran only 46 plays. Thus, it seems reasonable to conclude that we saw the floor level of production for Vidal in that matchup. Assuming a more neutral game script on Sunday Night Football against the Chiefs, Vidal should once again see around 5 carries. Vidal has eclipsed this number in 2 of his last 3 games played and could see even more snaps tonight if Gus Edwards struggles for any reason or if the Chargers are playing from in front. This is good value for a talented player.
