I’m going to focus on the nine-game Main Slate tonight, but we do have an early four-game set. I’m going to go ahead and post this, but since I wrote it late last night, the weather is looking sketchier by the minute for the early slate in both New York and Cincinnati. If we lose one or both of these games, it makes this slate very close to unplayable. My official recommendation is to skip over this slate and just jump right to the Main Slate. I’ll have the Main Slate write-up done by early afternoon.
There are several decent pitching options, but it’s all about Chris Sale, heading into Miami. He was in mid-season for on Opening Day, striking out nine batters in six shutout innings of one-hit ball. There is no excuse for overthinking this one. Sale is the best pitcher on this slate by a mile, and arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball. Heading into Miami to face the Marlins, his salary is irrelevant, but even it mattered, I would consider him too cheap.
