Primetime Parlay: Chiefs vs. Chargers Same Game Parlay Picks

Chiefs vs Chargers Same Game Parlay

Through thousands of simulations using ScoresAndOdds’ ParlayIQ tool we aim to create profitable same-game parlays across sports betting sites. We will examine stats, roster news, trends, player props, and betting odds across sportsbooks to find the best price for a fun primetime parlay sweat. Today, we build a Sunday Night Football same-game parlay for the Chiefs vs Chargers.

Sunday Night Football features the AFC West leading Kansas City Chiefs traveling to play the Los Angeles Chargers. Before the season kicked off, this game scanned as one of the premier primetime matchups as both teams should be contending for a division crown. Instead, the Chargers continue to fight for playoff life due to an absolutely overwhelming number of injuries. The Chiefs, on the other hand, continue to move forward in the post-Tyreek Hill era. This game should be pretty exciting on its own but we will enhance our excitement with a same-game parlay ticket on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Same Game Parlay for Chiefs vs. Chargers

At the time of this writing, the Chargers are 5.5-point underdogs at home against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs hit the road on a three-game winning streak, separating themselves from the Chargers by two games. The Chargers have not looked like a contender as of late but remain in the discussion for the wild card and the AFC West if they can somehow find a big win on Sunday Night Football.

Per SAO, 70% of the money bet on the spread sits on the Chargers side as Los Angeles is giving plenty of points in a divisional home game. The line initially moved towards the Chiefs but since the news broke about the Kansas City wide receiver core (we’ll get there) the money seems to be coming in on the home team. The implied game total sits at 52.5 points with 80% of the money on the under.

As for injuries, well, do you have a minute? Or two? The Chiefs will play this game without Mecole Hardman (IR) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion). Jerick McKinnon and Marquez Valdes-Scantling were removed from the injury report and will suit up for the contest. For the Chargers, both Mike Williams and Keenan Allen logged a full practice on Friday and are questionable to play on Sunday night. Gerald Everett popped back up on the injury report and would be very questionable to play. Dustin Hopkins is doubtful. Give yourself a minute and peruse any website to take a look at the Chargers’ full injury report, though, and you will realize that this team is not the team forecasted to compete in 2022.

With two of his main weapons back, Justin Herbert should at least be able to throw the ball around the yard in hopes of playing catch up against the Chiefs. While his offensive line might still be in tatters, the Chargers come into this game a bit more equipped than recently on offense. This ticket should be a fun one!

Same Game Parlay Picks – Chiefs & Chargers Props

Justin Herbert Over 278.5 Passing Yards

Why waste time? If we get one or both of Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, Justin Herbert should be likely to leap over this number with ease. There are not many game scripts that would suggest the Chargers will take the air out of the football, either.

ParlayIQ favors points and statistics in this game as you are surely going to see. Many of the offensive props are in such a high volume of the simulations that I don’t think we even need to worry about the outcome of the game. ParlayIQ has Justin Herbert going over this total in 52% of the simulations. Our stat projections pin Herbert for 285 yards while the Blitz projects him for north of 320 passing yards.

With a few weapons back and the potential for a shootout given our game total, this feels like a no-brainer. Herbert went for 334 yards in the first matchup with the Chiefs. I expect a similar result.

Austin Ekeler Over 44.5 Receiving Yards

ParlayIQ is in love with this one. On its own, ParlayIQ features Austin Ekeler exceeding this total in 69% of the simulations. If we already have Herbert’s passing over selected, 78% of those simulations include Ekeler going over. These props correlate very well, especially if Keenan Allen doesn’t suit up.

The Chargers will need to get the ball out quickly and/or rely on Austin Ekeler as as safety valve for Justin Herbert. The Chiefs sit in the middle of the pack in sack rate but have put together an 11.30% rate over the last three weeks. With a questionable Chargers’ offensive line, we won’t be surprised to see Herbert under duress. Ekeler is going to be involved with or without Keenan Allen but heavily so if he teammate cannot go.

We are scripting some action on Sunday night. What should we do on the other side?

Travis Kelce Over 76.5 Receiving Yards

Without JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs will be looking to move those targets around the offense. While Kadarius Toney looks to be a great addition to the Chiefs’ offense, missing Mecole Hardman means the Chiefs already have a hole to fill. I think Travis Kelce needs to get an extended workload this evening.

ParlayIQ is not too hot on this prop, only finding it in 52% of simulations. That said, the Ekeler prop has already put us ahead with expected value. Our stat projections put Kelce just above 84 receiving yards. That would be enough to get the job done.

Kadarius Toney Under 53.5 Receiving Yards

This prop feels like a risky pick but ParlayIQ and the projection systems I use tend to keep Toney below this number. The number is likely a bit inflated because of the missing receivers and Toney’s emergence last week. With that said, I don’t think the volume should be considered guaranteed because of one solid week.

Without question, Toney is the type of playmaker who can rip off a huge play at any point. However, I am a bit more comfortable with Travis Kelce and MVS being targeted heavily as well as the trio of backs at Mahomes’ disposal. I am going to roll with ParlayIQ and the projections here and take the under on Toney’s receiving prop.
