Top CFB DFS Picks & Fantasy Pick’em Plays for Week 9

Josh Hoover: The TCU offense has been relatively underwhelming over the past 2 games, but we can cut them some slack for last week’s performance in a low-scoring game against a very good Utah defense. TCU still managed to come away with a win in that game, and they should have some confidence heading into a much more favorable matchup against Texas Tech this weekend. The Red Raider defense is fresh off allowing 59 points and 5 touchdown passes to Sawyer Robertson and the Baylor offense a week ago, and this is a unit that has been exploited all year long. I expect Hoover to have a very strong game, and we have him projected for well over 300 passing yards.

Makhi Hughes: We need to get some exposure to the high-total games and the Tulane / North Texas contest projects as perhaps the weekend’s biggest shootout, with the total currently sitting at 67.5 points. Hughes already has 744 rushing yards this year, and Tulane is favored by 8 points in this game. It projects as a great game script for Hughes, and he matches up very well against a mediocre defense. North Texas allowed 6 rushing touchdowns to Memphis a week ago, and Hughes should be one of the first players in your DFS lineups this weekend.

Dalton Carnes: On the other side of the Tulane / North Texas game, give Dalton Carnes a peek for the Mean Green. He has become a bigger piece of their offense in his sophomore season, and he has been showing consistent production of late with 12 catches for 153 yards and 2 scores over the last 3 games. That isn’t elite production, but he is also priced near the minimum for DFS purposes. The $3,100 DraftKings salary really helps your lineups work, and I like Carnes as a value in a potential shootout game.
