Happy Sunday, Grinders! We have a very full slate on tap today, with 11 games on the main slate on DraftKings and FantasyDraft and 10 games on the main slate on FanDuel. There are only three games on the late afternoon slate today, so I will focus this article on the main slate. This is a very intriguing slate, with upside galore both on the mound and at the plate, and some of the upside on the mound can be had with affordable price tags. I’m excited to break it down, so let’s get right to business!
Sunday Fun Day Aces… With Question Marks
Corey Kluber at Tigers – In April or May, this would have been a no-brainer. We would plug Kluber in as our SP #1’s today and move on. However, it’s just not that simple right now. After posting an ERA around 2.00 for the season’s first two months, Corey Kluber now has an ERA over 4.00 over the season’s last two months. He has battled a knee injury and just does not look sharp right now, with the strikeouts on the decline and all of his metrics regressing. Despite a great matchup against the Tigers, I don’t think I can endorse the Cleveland ace today. Is there a path for him to post a solid game? Of course. Is it the most likely outcome, especially at his still-elevated price point? I’m not confident of that.
