Due to the overwhelming demand of the DOCOFS, the first daily fantasy series of its kind, DraftDay has announced they’ll be again upping the guarantees! After events 2, 3, and 4 sold out before the next morning, over 15 hours in advance of that day’s MLB games, the DOCOFS $200 main event and its $25,000 guarantee are full to the brim with entries a day and a half prior to its start time.

With almost every DOCOFS event selling out, DraftDay had already increased the prizepools of multiple events in the DOCOFS by more than $11,000, but that wasn’t enough. So today they have also announced they’re be running a $15,000 Guaranteed 2nd Chance Tourney this Sunday! This brings the grand total of payouts from the initial projection of $40,000 to well over $60,000 (by RotoGrinders estimations).

The 2nd Chance tournament is already live on the site, so make sure to get your spot while you still can. The 2nd chance is looking certain to sell out just as the Main Event did. The 2nd Chance will sport a $100 Buy-In, and has 83 of its 163 available spots open at the time of posting this article. It starts Sunday at 1:00 EST so make sure to sign up now to claim your spot!

Taylor Caby, CEO of DraftDay, told their users in a recent blog post that “I want to be clear that our intention is not to sell out the games like this. We want to size our games so the amount of seats (supply) closely matches DraftDay players desire for action (demand).” In his statement, Taylor seemed almost perplexed by how far off their estimates really were, stating that “8 months ago we didn’t even have a website, now we were trying to fill up a game that paid out $20,000 in one night?” The good news is that Draft Day has learned from its “mistake” and they are already planning the DOCOFS 2!

With only Thursday night’s ‘Double Up’ event and the $25,000 Main Event left, one of RotoGrinders finest, Alex ‘WaiverWire’ Zelvin stands the best chance to bring the DOCOFS Player of the Series title back for team Grinders.

Alex is actually an employee of DraftDay’s competing site, FanDuel, but has been a die-hard Daily fantasy player and contributor since Day 1. WaiverWire has written for RotoGrinders in the past and you can find some of his work in the RG Strategy Vault in the Baseball section.

Other big names in the hunt include FFFC finalist and 73rd ranked Grinder TheRayRay, and #6 Overall Ranked HixvilleHunk. You’ll see the full DOCOFS POTS standings in the table to your right.
