Primetime Parlay: Dolphins vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay Picks
Last year, ScoresAndOdds’ ParlayIQ tool helped create a variety of fun same-game parlay tickets throughout the NFL season. Through thousands of simulations, the tool examines the potential value various betting lines offer on sports betting sites. Along with the simulations, we will examine stats, roster news, trends, player props, and betting odds across sports betting sites to find the best price for our same-game parlay ticket. For this article, we build a same-game parlay for the Miami Dolphins versus the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.
Indeed, we will be waiting all day until Sunday night. The NFL scheduled a doozy for primetime football on Sunday Night, as the Dolphins travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles. The Dolphins survived and thrived against the Panthers last Sunday, while the Eagles took an inexplicable loss against the Jets. FanDuel Sportsbook projects plenty of points for Sunday night. Let’s look at betting odds, injury news, and statistics before building a same-game parlay.
Dolphins vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay
At the time of this writing, the Eagles are three-point home favorites. In other words, this game is a stalemate with a slight edge for the home team. The Dolphins’ offense is on pace for a historic season. Will the Eagles slow them down?
The implied game total is 51.5 points after opening at 53.5. Per SAO, 72% of the betting handle was placed on the under for this game — the likely reason for the shift. Let’s be honest- 53.5 is a ridiculous number of points. Both offenses will need to click in order to get there.
For injuries, the Dolphins will welcome Jeff Wilson back while Xavien Howard is questionable. Howard did log back-to-back practices, however, and seems likely to play. Miami will need all of the help they can get, as their defense ranks in the bottom half of the league in most categories. Jalen Ramsey is on the road to return but won’t play on Sunday night.
For the Eagles, Dallas Goedert, Lane Johnson, Darius Slay, and DeVonta Smith were removed from the injury report. Julio Jones was elevated from the practice squad and will likely play in some packages for the Philly offense. Unfortunately, Reed Blankenship and Bradley Roby will not play for the Philadelphia secondary. That is horrible news for the Eagles, as they play the top-ranked offense in several categories.
The Dolphins are ranked 1st in scoring offense, yards per play on offense, yards per play passing, and yards per play rushing. For scoring, they aren’t just barely first: The Dolphins average 37.2 points per game, while second-ranked San Francisco averages 30.7. The Dolphins offense is wildly efficient, as Mike McDaniel keeps cooking up ways to give Tua Tagovailoa easy throws. Tua is +350 to win the MVP on DraftKings Sportsbook. A win tonight and a big game would go a long way in making Tua a prohibitive favorite.
Speaking of MVP candidates, Jalen Hurts struggled last weekend against a game Jets defense. That notwithstanding, the Eagles quarterback remains the prototype for dual-threat quarterbacks with legs and an arm second to none. The Eagles should see far more room to move the ball on Sunday night against a Dolphins defense that is far friendlier than that of their division foe.
In any event, the Philadelphia offense ranks in the top ten in most categories due to all of the weapons at Hurts’ disposal. A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and a resurgent D’Andre Swift will give the Dolphins’ defense fits. Assuming they can even keep up with the aforementioned play makers, Dallas Goedert is there in the middle of the field. Good luck.
With that said, when it comes to weapons, Tyreek Hill is the weapon. Who in Philadelphia is covering Hill on Sunday night? Hill has 42 catches for 814 yards through six weeks. Hill has six scores and feels very likely to threaten for a couple more against a weakened secondary.
Let’s take a look at what ParlayIQ makes of tonight’s contest.
Same Game Parlay Picks for SNF
- Hurts Anytime Touchdown Scorer
- Waddle Over 62.5 Receiving Yards
- Goedert Over 39.5 Receiving Yards
Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown Scorer
With Jalen Hurts, we have plenty of options. Rushing yards, passing yards, completions, oh my! However, it seems ParlayIQ is buying into the “Brotherly Shove.”
I am absolutely buying into the play. The Eagles seem to be the only team that can run this play in a nearly flawless manner. Hurts is a threat to score outside of the one but we know that if the Eagles find themselves within the five-yard line, Hurts will be getting shoved into the end zone.
ParlayIQ found this in about 54% of simulations. So this isn’t necessarily the best way to start, but we will find ways to make up ground with expected value.
Jaylen Waddle Over 62.5 Receiving Yards
Speaking of which, Jaylen Waddle to eclipse his receiving prop is regarded more highly than a Jalen Hurts touchdown.
With the Eagles down men in the secondary, the defense might struggle to keep all of the Dolphins’ threats at bay. The Eagles excel at stopping the run game. They might give Tyreek Hill all of the attention he can handle. That leaves Jaylen Waddle as the most obvious threat on the Miami offense.
Do not get me wrong. I think Tyreek Hill is going to have a great game on Sunday night. However, with the total so high, there should be plenty of work to go around for the Miami offense. Waddle should see plenty of targets tonight as the Dolphins look to spread the ball around.
Dallas Goedert Over 39.5 Receiving Yards
Finally, we find one of the better third or fourth options in the NFL. Dallas Goedert will be called upon throughout the night, as the Dolphins try to take away the outside threats. The Miami defense allowed the tenth-most receiving yards to the tight end position through the first six weeks of the season.
After a slow start, Goedert has 9 and 8 targets over the last couple of weeks for the Eagles. With a full complement of weapons, the Eagles have the luxury to take the path of least resistance. Look for Goedert to exceed this number in what might be a shootout.

- Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown Scorer

- Dallas Goedert Over 39.5 Receiving Yards
