The 10th week of the NFL season closes with the Dolphins meeting the Rams on Monday Night Football. Miami travels to Los Angeles in a must-win game with Tua Tagovailoa back under center. The Los Angeles Rams are right in the thick of the NFC West divisional race and need a win to keep pace with the victorious Cardinals and 49ers. Will either defense be able to make stops against high-octane offenses?

Check out our Same Game Parlay Guide before we break down tonight’s game and build a same game parlay for Monday Night Football.

Dolphins vs. Rams Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings Sportsbook posts the Rams as 2.5-point home favorite on Monday. The Rams opened favored by a couple of points as the betting spread has oscillated back and forth throughout the week. ScoresAndOdds reports that 60% of betting action is with the Rams.

At the time of writing, DraftKings is on the low side for the implied game total — posted at 48.5 points. A majority of betting action — including actual dollars — is on the over as points are expected in primetime. With both offenses nearly at full health, both quarterbacks will have a full allotment of weapons at their disposal.

I mentioned nearly at full healthy because the Miami Dolphins possess a big question mark leading up to kickoff. Tyreek Hill is a true game-time decision with a wrist injury that was re-aggravated on Friday. Hill would be a big loss to the Dolphins offense, and the other playmakers would see an uptick in work. Expect a bump for Jaylen Waddle, the run game, and DeVon Achane in the receiving game if Hill cannot suit up.

For the Rams, Demarcus Robinson is questionable. Robinson adds depth to a receiving corps that features Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. More importantly for the Rams could be the potential returns of Jonah Jackson and Steve Avila to an offensive line that ranks 31st in pass-blocking per Pro Football Focus. With a full allotment of weapons, more time for Matthew Stafford could mean the Rams make another late-season push comparable to their run to the playoffs last season.

The Dolphin defense is the strength of the 2-6 team. The per-game averages on rushing and passing make taking the over on Rams props very tenuous. Even worse, with Nacua, Kupp, and Kyren Williams all on the field together, identifying the best prop to target is very challenging. Williams seems to be the most secure option, as his share of work won’t be impacted greatly by the presence of Nacua. If anything, Williams’ pass-game role could take a hit.

The Rams defense can be had through the air. The Rams rank 31st in yards per pass attempt on defense. Without Hill, Tua will look to Achane and Jaylen Waddle as his primary options. The Rams also struggle against opposing rushing attacks, ranking in the bottom 10 in rushing yards per game. Achane is an interesting player to consider for prop options in a must-win game for Miami.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Dolphins vs. Rams

DeVon Achane Over 57.5 Rushing Yards

Achane should be the focal point of the Miami offense moving forward — especially if Hill is out. The budding superstar is a threat in the rushing and passing game and is always one missed tackle away from breaking a long touchdown.

This number remains in the fifties just because Raheem Mostert is back in the fold. That said, Achane went over this number in his last 3 games — all losses. If Miami is able to keep this game close or somehow find a lead, Achane will be called to protect the lead.

Even if Mostert exceeds his rushing attempt prop (8.5 attempts), Achane should receive enough work to vault over this total. The Rams allow 135.1 rushing yards per game. There is plenty to go around. Achane is a potential ladder candidate on Monday night.

Tua Tagovailoa Over 5.5 Rushing Yards

Tua is a pocket passer in a timing offense. When the Dolphins offense is in rhythm, Tua will stand back and pick apart defenses with timing throws to his athletic playmakers. He is very athletic, but he isn’t a run-first quarterback.

That said, no amount of head injuries seem to prevent Tua from scrambling when he can extend a drive for his team. If the Rams turn their backs, Tua is going to take off and hopefully — please, hopefully — slide. He has shown that football is everything to him. This competitive wiring is going to take a long time to reconfigure.

The Dolphins are not likely way ahead and taking knees in this game on the road. We need one Tua scamper to eclipse this number. He went over this total in three of his four starts.

Matthew Stafford Under 34.5 Pass Attempts

The Dolphins average less than 30 pass attempts per game on offense. The Rams are right at this number with passing attempts. If Achane and Tua are going to run the football against the Rams, the game should be shortened. Sean McVay doesn’t want to pass the football 35 times per game and would much prefer Williams carrying a larger share of the offense.

Even with Nacua and Kupp available, I think this number is too lofty. Let’s close with the under.
