If you’ve watched UFC events before, you’ve likely seen or heard a lot about DraftKings. That’s because the two brands are amidst a five-year partnership. DraftKings has all you can want in a good betting site for UFC events, including their large first bet welcome offer.
$1,500 is the maximum amount your first bet can be. For comparison’s sake, BetMGM is the only other sportsbook where you can find a first bet offer worth $1,500. Other sportsbooks max out at $1,000. Between DraftKings and BetMGM, DraftKings has the better pre-built same game parlays and promotions for UFC events.
DraftKings takes you deep in the weeds for UFC. An extensive selection of betting markets are available for each fight. The odds on these fights are also the most competitive of any other sportsbook, especially when it comes to the underdogs.
UFC 302 betting preview with DraftKings Sportsbook odds
I have to start with the main event of Makhachev vs Poirier. If you’re looking for a good underdog to bet on, it doesn’t get any better than Poirier. He’s one of my favorite fighters in the UFC, and DraftKings’ +455 odds for him to win are the best of any sportsbook.
With that said, there’s a reason he’s such a large underdog. Makhachev is tied for the third-longest win streak ever at 13 fights. His grappling style could yield him points from the judges if this fight goes the distance. The bet I like most for this fight is over 2.5 rounds at +140 odds.
The co-main event sees Sean Strickland clash with Paulo Costa. Both fighters are coming off losses and have conflicting styles as well. Strickland has won 44% of his fights by decision, while Costa has won 85% of his fights by knockout. I like this fight to go the distance with Strickland winning (+150).
As for the other three fights on the card, the one I’m keeping an eye on for a potential upset is Niko Price vs Alex Morono. Price has enticing underdog odds at +210 and holds an advantage in height, weight, and reach. While Price’s defense and tendency to get hit more often are concerning, I think his aggressive nature can get him the win against Morono.
