Tuesday’s MLB slate is ripe with betting opportunities across 15 games. Only a select few markets aren’t able to be wagered on, such as the Yankees’ moneyline of -285 vs. the Angels. The game I’m most intrigued by is the second of a three-game series between the Phillies and Dodgers. Los Angeles won the first game 5-3 with Tyler Glasnow striking out nine batters.
Clayton Kershaw gets the start for the Dodgers Tuesday. He’s only pitched twice this season and had six strikeouts in his season debut but recorded none in his last start. Kershaw’s strikeout prop is at 4.5, with odds of -140 for him going over that amount. I like the over for Kershaw, as Philadelphia’s offense has underwhelmed more than not as of late.
As for the Phillies, Christopher Sanchez makes his 22nd appearance on the season. His 3.36 ERA is respectable enough, but he doesn’t get many strikeouts. His strikeout prop is also set at 4.5, which is a mark he’s only surpassed twice in his last six games. I like him getting fewer than 4.5 strikeouts with odds of -115.
Beyond Tuesday, the next week has more MLB regular season games to bet on. But a big highlight this time of year is the return of the NFL preseason. With the exception of the Bears and Texans, the NFL will play their first preseason games starting Thursday and going through Sunday.
