Fanduel's Optimal (Perfect) Lineup For Week 14
Every Sunday when I’m sitting there watching all the games, I can’t help but play the “what if” game. Not only does it make me feel much better about my team in the current week but it also makes it even harder to make a team the next week. Every time a TD is scored by a player that’s not on my team, my brain immediately goes into the “you idiot, why didn’t you pick that guy” mode. It happens without fail every single week. And then the next week when I start putting my team together, I think about way too many different scenarios and end up changing my team around 100 times. Then this leads to me watching the games again and being mad that I took out the guys that I did. It’s a vicious circle.
That being said, I thought I might as well add a little fuel to the fire by posting the Optimal Lineup for a site each week. The Optimal Lineup is the absolute most points that you could have scored in a given week. For last week’s Optimal Lineup, I picked Fanduel so for all of you grinders that play on Fanduel, here is the team that you should have picked last week. It was so obvious! I will also give my thoughts on how each player will fare this week:

FANDUEL WEEK 14 OPTIMAL LINEUP:
QB – Tony Romo: What a great Sunday night game between the Giants and Cowboys. Both QB’s put up huge numbers and the Cowboys fell just short once again. Romo has really been playing well lately and now that he has 4 wideouts that are all big time weapons (Bryant, Austin, Witten, Robinson) he should continue to put up big numbers. This week he faces the Buccaneers who have a bad defense. Could be another big week for Romo.
Week 14 Points: 28.84
RB – Maurice Jones-Drew: Where would the Jaguars be without this guy? MJD may be small but he showed up in a big way last week against the Buccs with 4 TD’s. This week he will face a much tougher run defense in the Falcons so you might want to temper your expectations a little bit. Although he will still get around 25 touches and if he breaks one he could be worth a shot again this week.
Week 14 Points: 40.6
RB – Ryan Grant: Ryan Grant capitalized on the extra playing time with James Starks being out. Grant ran aggressively against the Raiders and finished with over 80 yards and 2 TD’s. He has another great opportunity this week against the Chiefs who have let opposing RB’s score all season. He is worth a flier this week.
Week 14 Points: 22.3

WR – Larry Fitzgerald: You never know what to expect from Larry Fitzgerald because you can never count on any Arizona QB to have a good game, but one thing is for sure: If you throw him the ball, he is going to get up and get it. This week he faces the Browns who have been surprisingly good against the pass. I think Fitz is overpriced this week.
Week 14 Points: 24.4
WR – Antonio Brown: Brown was about to have a disappointing night until he caught an 80 yard TD late in the fourth quarter against the Browns. It turned his performance from average into a great game. Brown is a very explosive guy that can beat you deep on any play. I like Brown most weeks, but he plays the stingy 49ers defense this week.
Week 14 Points: 23.6
WR – Nate Washington: Jake Locker loves to pad Nate Washington stats when he gets in the game. Washington’s two biggest games have been in games where Hasselbeck has been hurt. Nate had a big game last week against the Saints and if Locker gets the start this week, he could follow that up with another big game against the Colts.
Week 14 Points: 22
TE – Rob Gronkowski: Did anyone else see the play last week where big Gronk made an amazing catch for about one yard and then shed off 4 tacklers and ran 20 yards in for the score? This kid is amazing and there is no reason why his production should slow down. He has already broken the TE TD record and he will add to it this week against the Broncos.
Week 14 Points: 31
K – Mike Nugent: It’s hard to choose kickers, but if you had Nugent in your lineup, then good choice.
Week 14 Points: 15
D – Detroit Lions The Lions defense looked terrible after they scored those two TD’s, luckily it didn’t matter much because they had already scored two TD’s.
Week 14 Points: 29
==============================================================================
GRAND TOTAL = 236.74
So there you have it, feel free to play the “what if” game as much as you like because after I see next week’s optimal lineups, I will be sure to do the same thing.
