Fantasy Aces Weekly Preview: Monday, August 31st

aces live final

Hey everybody, welcome to the first edition of the Fantasy Aces Weekly Preview. Fantasy Aces is quickly growing, and continues to be a part of the community here at RotoGrinders. (They’re now the official sponsor of the RotoGrinders blog program.)

Once a week I’m going to be talking about the featured contest, and giving you a little Fantasy Aces strategy. So let’s take a look at what’s in store for the week ahead.

Fantasy Aces recently announced a Live College Football Championship in Newport Beach, California. The live final takes place on November 21st and has a $100,000 prize pool. The greatest thing about this live final is that there are only 13 finalists. Someone will walk away with a $40,000 check, but everybody will walk away with a great trip to Newport Beach. As someone who has qualified for two Aces finals, this trip is a great time, and there’s truly no live final like it.

Thursday College Football

The official kickoff for college football is this Thursday, and Fantasy Aces is running two big CFB contest. The $10,000 Kickoff is a $22 buy-in contest with a $1,500 top prize. It’s paying out 75 spots and is a great way for a smaller grinder to get their feet wet with college football. I don’t play much CFB, but this is the type of contest I would play.

They’re also running a Live Final Qualifier on this opening slate. It’s a 100-man tournament with a $215 buy-in. First place will receive a ticket to the live final, and the top 15 will at least double their money. Fantasy Aces does a good job with these qualifiers, and competing with only 100 people is some of the best odds to qualify for a live final. If the $215 price point is too much for you, they’re running satellites all week through baseball contests.

Saturday College Football

The first college football Saturday of the season is coming soon, and Fantasy Aces is offering three big contests. They’re running a $20,000 GPP with a $55 buy-in that pays out $3,000 to first place. This contest allows you to get some solid GPP action, without having to beat a field of 25,000 people. Also, they have a $10,000 GPP with a $27.50 buy-in. They’re trying to please players with all types of bankrolls, and these two tournaments are a great way to start the season.

That’s not the only thing going on Saturday at Fantasy Aces, they’re running another Live Final Qualifier. This time it’s a $109 buy-in, and you’re competing against 200 people. The odds are still the best chance to qualify for a live final without paying $1,000 to get into the qualifier. They have some MLB satellites up for this qualifier as well. The top 30 will be paid out, and the winner will receive an entry into the Fantasy Aces College Football Championship. First time playing college football? That’s okay, Fantasy Aces is running a $1,500 College Football Freeroll on Saturday. Click through the RotoGrinders link, create an account, and join the freeroll. Yes, it’s that easy.

aces lineup

Fantasy Aces Football is a little different than other sites. It’s 2 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, and 2 FLEX setup really allows you to do a lot of things with your roster. The quarterback position is on a .05 per throwing yard system, which gives you a point every 20 yards instead of 25. This helps a little more for quarterbacks that don’t run as much, and really gives you a lot of upside for a dual threat QB. It’s a half point PPR system site, and really can reward RBs that can catch. I really enjoy the roster setup on Fantasy Aces, and I highly recommend giving them a look.

Don’t sleep on the MLB product and the offerings for the end of the season. Like I mentioned above, it’s a cheap way to pick up CFB/NFL tickets. They’re running a $5,000 Line Drive on Tuesday. The MLB roster setup is my favorite, and it gives you a lot of options on where to go with your roster.

If you have any questions about the Fantasy Aces contest, please leave them in the comments section below. I will answer them as fast as I can. Next week we will get into some Week 1 NFL strategy.
