2024 Farmers Insurance Open Weather Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the Farmers Insurance Open in La Jolla, California, and the weather is as perfect as you’d expect for the location.

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Farmers Insurance Open Weather Forecast

Wednesday, January 24th

Really great stuff, a consistent 5-10 mph all day with no precip and mild temps.

Thursday, January 25th

Another nice day, around 5 mph through the morning, a couple more mph’s in the afternoon, but still not anything worrisome.

Friday, January 26th

Winds might tick up a hair in the afternoon here, but we’re still talking about 5-10 mph winds in the morning and around 10 mph in the afternoon. Good stuff.

Saturday, January 27th

Closing it out in style. Another great day with light winds and no precip.

Farmers Insurance Open Weather Thoughts

As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. In the case of the Farmers Insurance Open, there are no red flags at all; it’s just quiet and perfect weather all around. Side note: I checked Zillow and saw some really nice homes in the area for just $28,000,000. Anyone wanna go halfsies with me?
