Find Your Edge: Week 7

Director of Data and Analytics, Kevin Cole, returns with a look at how past DFS slates can yield valuable insights to roster construction, decision making, and winning strategies for the coming slate of games. This is a big deal. We’ve collected a massive amount of data on past DFS slates, and Kevin is going to help you “find the edge” buried deep within them.

Week 7

This week we’re going back to the massive data we have in our ResultsDB to comb through the millions of entries to see if we can find deeper-level strategies for stacking and success in tournaments.

This week we’re building off of the Week 5 analysis that looked at stacking through the prism of contest size cohorts: tiny (fewer than 500 entries), small (between 500 and 1,000), medium (between 1,000, and 10,000), large (between 10,000 and 100,000) and massive (greater than 100,000).

We focused on straight stacking for that piece, and we’re going a bit deeper this time to see if we have found winning leverage with multi stacks, i.e. employing more than two stacks in the same lineup.

These aren’t necessarily stacks from the same game, because often there are multiple matchups on the slate that provide a good outlook for stacking.
