Friday, March 12th - FanDuel Single Game Analysis: IND @ LAL
Is your main slate NBA DFS lineup looking rough? Or did you not get off work in time to make one? Or just looking for a little more action? Don’t worry, FanDuel has you covered with their Single Game format. Monday night’s marquee game is IND @ LAL starting at 10:30 PM ET. You can make a lineup with players from just this game. Below are some options for players to use in the MVP slot and other cheap options that will allow you to fit in the big dogs.
Top MVP Options
LeBron James ($16,000) – Anthony Davis remains sidelined for the Lakers which means LeBron will continue to shoulder much of the team’s offensive responsibility. LeBron’s usage rate has jumped to 33.6% in 728 minutes without Davis on the court this season and he’s averaging 51.57 FanDuel points per 36 minutes. We currently have LeBron projected for 7+ points more than the next player – Domantas Sabonis – and it’s tough to envision a scenario in which one of the two doesn’t end up scoring the most fantasy points in the game.
Domantas Sabonis ($15,000) – The gap in projection between Sabonis and the player with the third-highest projection – Malcolm Brogdon – is even bigger (~9 points) than the gap between LeBron and Sabonis, which easily cements Sabonis as a priority play in the MVP or STAR slot. Sabonis has been an impressive fantasy producer this season with a per 36 line of 20.5 points, 10.93 rebounds, 5.95 assists, good for an average of 44.12 FD points per 36 minutes. A once scary frontcourt matchup against a stout Lakers defense isn’t nearly as frightening with Davis still sidelined.
Top Value Options
T.J. McConnell ($10,000) – T.J. McConnell saw his role increase heading into the All-Star Break and he paid off head coach Nate Bjorkgren’s confidence in him with a ridiculous 16 point, 4 rebound, 13 assist, 10 (TEN!!) steal line good for 71.3 FD points against the Cavs on March 3rd. While we obviously can’t predict that sort of performance out of him again, the fact that he has seen his minutes solidified in the high-20’s should give us enough confidence to play him at $10,000.
Markieff Morris ($7,000) – Similar to McConnell, Markieff Morris saw his role increase heading into the All-Star Break. Morris started the season seeing limited court time as a bench player but was forced into more action due to injury and capped off the first half of the season stringing together three consecutive 21+ FD point performances. There’s always a chance Morris won’t continue to start for the Lakers but even if he doesn’t, $7,000 is simply too cheap for his expected role and he makes for one of the top point-per-dollar options in this game.
