2023 Hero World Challenge Weather Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas this weekend, and while it will be breezy at times, it’s tough to find ways to avoid the wind.

As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the time frame with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Hero World Challenge Weather Forecast

Thursday, November 30th

Breezy, as it tends to be along the coast in the tropics, but it’s a steady breeze, winds 10-15mph all day.

Friday, December 1st

Friday is a similar day to Thursday, though winds may generally be a hair lighter, 10mph sustained winds with a few stronger gusts in the AM and PM.

Saturday, December 2nd

Again we’re dry with 10mph sustained winds, no timeframe really stands out as worse than any other times.

Sunday, December 3rd

Closing it out with the same weather pattern, 10mph winds with stronger gusts all day long.

Hero World Challenge Weather Thoughts

As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. In the case of the Hero World Challenge, the wind is consistent enough so that I don’t see a an edge where we can avoid those winds. We’ll see roughly 10mph winds all tournament long.
