g123 vs. GotEmBaseball

Game 1: g123 89 – GotEmBaseball 48

Game 2: GotEmBaseball 47 – g123 44

Game 3: g123 70 – GotEmBaseball 36

Game 4: GotEmBaseball 89 – g123 59

Game 5: g123 78 – GotEmBaseball 38

Winner: g123 3-2

Thoughts on the Series:

G123 jumped out to a huge win in game one of this series when his hitters went absolutely insane. Ryan Howard, Everth Cabrera, and Chase Utley combined for 42 points and outscored GotEm’s whole team minus the overlap pick of E5. Game 2 was much closer and GotEm was able to tie the series up, avoiding going down 0-2 to one of the best DraftStreet baseball players. GotEm was able to overcome Carlos Gonzalez leaving the game with an injury. G123 nailed his value play in game 3, and was able to blow GotEm out. This was the second blowout in 3 games, and it seems like GotEm was taking a few risks with his hitters in this matchup. I like the risk taking against a guy like g123, but it just didn’t pay off for him in this game. GotEm was able to bounce back in game 4, and he did it in a big way with a 31 point win. He outscored g123 with his hitters by 28 points, and that was by far the deciding factor of game 4. Game 5 was the biggest blowout of the series, and it gave g123 the victory he needed to move on. GotEm had a very solid squad with plenty of good matchups, but it just didn’t work out for him. G123 took some risk with Francisco Liriano and Domonic Brown, but it paid off in a huge way.

This matchup reminded me a lot of the Spurs and Thunder series. G123 was solid the whole matchup, and put GotEm away when he needed to. GotEm showed that he is no push over, and I think he’s one of the best up and coming DFS baseball players. This was one of my favorite matchups to follow since the high stakes series started.

Vegetable_Lasagna vs. Chop

Game 1: Vegetable_Lasagna 64 – Chop 51

Game 2: Vegetable_Lasagna 70 – Chop 52

Game 3: Vegetable_Lasagna 84 – Chop 28

Winner: Vegetable_Lasagna 3-0

Thoughts on the Series:

Vegetable_Lasagna was able to jump out to a 1-0 lead against Chop, and it was all about hitters in game 1. They both had the same 3 pitchers, but only had 2 overlapping hitters. Jean Segura and Chase Utley were the deciding factors in this matchup. Game 2 was much different than game 1, and the 2 players only had a total of 4 overlapping picks with only 1 of them being a pitcher. Vegetable_Lasagna was able to outscore Chop with both hitters and pitchers in this matchup. Vegetable_Lasagana took a risk with the struggling Garza, and for 11k he paid off to be a huge factor. Chop loaded up with some hitters in good spots for game 3, but they all came up short for him and scored a combined 2.5. This was the biggest win we’ve seen since the high stakes series has started. Vegetable_Lasagna nailed his value play of Tommy Medica, and really dominated with his whole team.

Vegetable_Lasagna is still undefeated in the high stakes series, and is showing why he’s one of the best baseball fantasy players on DraftStreet. Chop went cold at the wrong time, and really only had 1 bad game of this series. Moving forward we get to see 2 of the best DraftStreet baseball players face off against each other. I’m really looking forward to this semifinal matchup between g123 and vegetable_lasagna. I think analyzing their lineups daily you could really learn a lot about fantasy baseball on DraftStreet.
