Intro to Daily Fantasy Bootcamp

By now you’ve heard me on one of the Grinders Live shows, on the forums or on twitter talking about Daily Fantasy Bootcamp. This series is going to be a behind the scenes account of what it takes to put these camps together from getting the talent, to all the travel involved, culminating with accounts from all of the camps that we put on as the time approaches.

DailyFantasyBootcamp.com provides the first live and in person training experience for the daily fantasy player who is looking to improve his or her game. Until this point, there has only been opportunity for players to gather information through online articles, tools or videos from around the web. And while those have been beneficial to many who are new to the game, Daily Fantasy Bootcamp takes it to the next level with live seminars featuring instruction with some of the best players in the game. If you can’t make it to a camp, don’t sweat, as all of the videos from camps are professionally recorded, produced and hosted on site for our subscribers, so you wont run the risk of missing out on hearing from your favorite players as it’s impossible to make it to every one of the cities. The presentations vary widely in subject matter – from Peter Jennings discussing Game Type Strategy to David Kitchen’s analysis of Technology in DFS.

Each series of camps is focused on a specific professional sport. Our first round of live camps took place in March-April 2015 and were focused on the upcoming MLB season. We were very happy that three camp stops sold out and were a tremendous success. As a result of this we were very excited to get to work on planning the NFL based camps in August and September. It really takes a lot to put something like this together as well as the issue of pricing it at a point where the customer gets as much value as possible.

We are really proud to announce the addition of VIP Bootcamp Excursions linked to the NFL camps. In New York, we’ll be attending a New York Mets game, watching from a private suite behind home plate. In Atlanta we have a suite night at the Braves game and in Chicago our presenters and VIP guests will be attending a Chicago White Sox game from a private Suite as well. What better way to kick off the NFL season than coming to a NFL Kickoff Party with DFB and RotoGrinders? For the full NFL Camp schedule, click here. Each camp will have a unique Excursion afterwards, so be sure to look at all the different ticket options.

We had a great time at the MLB camps, and really enjoyed getting to meet many new DFS players. That’s the bonus of Bootcamp, attendees not only get to meet chat with some of the best in the industry, but also meet other members of the DFS community, establish friendships and find players to bounce ideas off of and team up with when building their own line ups. We hit three cities this last round- Los Angeles, Denver and Chicago. A fellow RG blogger, SirGiant recapped his experience at the Denver Bootcamp.

The main difference that the live bootcamps from anything else in DFS is that you immediately have access to people and players that you otherwise don’t have access to, if only for one day. I’ve always strived to surround myself with people smarter than I am on certain topics as that’s really the only way to gain a greater knowledge in the areas you’re not as strong. When I have DFS questions, I call on some of the greatest minds in the game because I’ve been lucky enough to be in a position to form relationships with them over the past few years. Aside from trying to contact those guys in 140 characters and hoping that they respond, DFS players don’t have any sort of access to that group of players. Our campers get to sit face to face with them and bounce any questions they might have about process, decision making, lineup building or whatever ideas they might need insight on to help improve their own DFS game. Some of our speakers offer private lessons that would cost WAY more for one hour of instruction than the bootcamp ticket price of $250 where you get 8-9 hours of teaching from five experts. Every single person who attended one of our baseball events left a better player than when they arrived and that includes all of our presenters.

Here is the list of our upcoming camps for August and September. You can get more information and buy tickets here.
