Primetime Parlay: Jets vs. Chiefs Same Game Parlay Picks
Last year, ScoresAndOdds’ ParlayIQ tool helped us create a variety of fun same-game parlay tickets throughout the NFL season. Through simulations, the tool examines the potential value various betting lines offer on sports betting sites. Along with the simulations, we will examine stats, roster news, trends, player props, and betting odds across sports betting sites to find the best price for our same game parlay ticket. For this article, we build a same-game parlay for the Kansas City Chiefs at New York Jets on Sunday Night Football.
The Chiefs travel to New York to play the hapless Jets. Without Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson continues not looking the part, as the Jets’ defense continues to dominate. Wilson will look to shake it off, as the Chiefs will look to build off of a dominant victory at home against the Bears last week. The entire country is talking about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and this primetime game is expected to earn more eyeballs than any other primetime game in quite some time. Can the Jets offense begin again? We’ll start with betting information, stats, and injuries ahead of constructing a same game parlay ticket on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Chiefs vs. Jets Same Game Parlay
The Jets are 7.5-point underdogs on Sunday night at home in MetLife Stadium. The Chiefs come in after squashing the Bears and the consensus seems to be that the Chiefs are likely to repeat last week’s performance against a weak opponent in the Jets. Per SAO, 83% of betting tickets lie on the Chiefs’ side of the spread while 61% of money agrees.
The implied game total at the time of this writing is 41.5 points with a high volume of tickets (83%) and money (96%) siding with the under. While bettors likely believe the Chiefs will score some points against a stalwart New York defense, I am sure nobody attributes much scoring to Zach Wilson and the Jets.
Reports came out mid-week that the Jets locker room is getting a bit hostile as Zach Wilson continues to start for a team despite offering nothing on the field. The Jets bring plenty of talent — young talent — to the table but cannot seem to get anything going on offense. For a coaching staff that continues to claim to believe in Wilson, they sure don’t let him do much in the offense. The Jets’ offense continues to hand the ball off seemingly in hopes that their defense can score. They won’t. The Chiefs will. This game could get ugly.
Breece Hall practiced in full and the Jets added Trevor Siemian at quarterback this week. Siemian, despite playing for the Jets, shouldn’t be ready to play tonight. Jets fans will instead hope to see Tim Boyle if and when Zach Wilson gets booed out of the building.
For the Chiefs, Kadarius Toney and Patrick Mahomes are in. Mahomes got a full week of practice in after hurting his ankle in Week 3. Toney returns to the fold after working throughout the week. Linebacker Nick Bolton will not suit up for the Sunday night affair.
Let’s be honest- nobody is talking about the game. Instead, Sunday Night on NBC will be the outlet for a love story that continues to blossom, as Taylor Swift will be in attendance to watch her beau play tight end for the Chiefs. Travis Kelce doesn’t require any discussion with regard to his prowess on the field. Despite what the general population believes, Kelce is already an established hall of famer and will give the Jets defense fits all night. With the Chiefs not having another star on the offensive side of the ball, Sauce Gardner will be neutralized, as it is very unlikely he will shadow a tight end. Kelce will likely be at his best with Taylor’s eyes upon him from some booth in the building.
This game feels pretty cut and dry. The New York offense is 31st in yards per play and 32nd in scoring. The Kansas City offense will always be good with Patrick Mahomes under center. For this game to be close, the Jets’ defense will need to occupy the blank space the offense has left. Will sparks fly or will the Chiefs win in style? Let’s check in with ParlayIQ and build a ticket.
Same Game Parlay Picks for SNF
- Chiefs -7.5
- Cook Over 26.5 Rushing Yards
- McKinnon Over 15.5 Receiving Yards
Chiefs -7.5
Back the truck up, baby. I would bet the Chiefs -1,000,000 if you let me, so -7.5 is obviously a bargain. While the Jets’ defense continues to impress, you can’t win in the National Football League without moving the football forward. The team is normally fighting to break 100 yards of offense by halftime.
The defense could bottle the Chiefs up. The crowd will start the game on fire. Maybe Mahomes and company play tentatively for a bit. With that said, the defense cannot maintain that high a level if they stay on the field the entire game. The Jets offense must do something, and there is no reason to have confidence that they can or will.
Dalvin Cook Over 26.5 Rushing Yards
In an effort to find some negative correlation, I will jump on the only Jets prop that I would even consider. Dalvin Cook will still get the football, as Breece Hall continues to work his way into positive health.
The only avenue to beat the Chiefs for the Jets is to keep Patrick Mahomes on the sideline and give the defense a rest. Mahomes can’t score without the football. So if somehow the Jets offense can get going, Dalvin Cook will touch the football often. I find myself shocked to see this rushing number next to his name, but his days in Minnesota are over. While Breece Hall is the star, Cook has just enough left in the tank to get over this prop. ParlayIQ agrees, and we are likely looking at some favorable pricing with this negative correlation.
Jerick McKinnon Over 15.5 Receiving Yards
Finally, and as usual, ParlayIQ loves a running back’s receiving prop. Jerick McKinnon remains the Chiefs’ passing threat out of the backfield and should get enough targets tonight to exceed this receiving number. The defense is good, and many of the Kansas City receivers could struggle to separate. When that happens, Mahomes will look to Travis Kelce, his legs, or Jerick McKinnon. This number only requires one busted play to exceed. We’ll close our ticket with this one and hope for mercy as the entire world will watch the Jets get slaughtered.
I hate to bet against my favorite football team. Zach Wilson, Robert Saleh… look what you made me do.
