Jets vs. 49ers – NFL Player Props
- Aaron Rodgers Over/Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
- George Kittle Over/Under 45.5 Receiving Yards
- Deebo Samuel Over/Under 47.5 Receiving Yards
Aaron Rodgers UNDER 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-140), DraftKings
Aaron Rodgers was 1 of 10 starting quarterbacks to completely opt out of this year’s preseason. Of the other 9 signal callers who didn’t take a single snap during this fall’s preseason, only 1 of them threw for multiple touchdowns over the weekend, and it was Jalen Hurts – who had the benefit of playing against a defense that was essentially ice skating on poor field conditions in Brazil.
Rodgers has the added difficulty in this matchup of having thrown only 1 regular season pass since the end of the 2022 campaign due to a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1 last year. We all know that Rodgers loves to play against San Francisco, the team that passed on him in the draft, but there are real physical and procedural limitations at play here. Let’s not forget that Rodgers also skipped a week of mandatory training camp this past June because he was on vacation.
George Kittle UNDER 45.5 Receiving Yards (-105), DraftKings
The 49ers are not in great shape on the offensive line heading into Week 1, with Aaron Banks questionable, Jon Feliciano on injured reserve, and Trent Williams only recently returning to the team after a prolonged preseason holdout. Given the circumstances, it wouldn’t be surprising to see George Kittle used more as a blocker tonight than as a receiver. If Kittle has his receiving opportunities limited at all in this contest, it could be difficult for him to rack up many yards against a New York defense that led the league in DVOA against the position in 2023.
Deebo Samuel OVER 47.5 Receiving Yards (-118), Bally
Brandon Aiyuk will be on a restricted workload tonight for San Francisco, Christian McCaffrey is dealing with a nagging calf injury, and it’s possible that George Kittle could be used more in protection than as a pass-catcher, given the uncertainties of the offensive line. That leaves Deebo Samuel with a clear path to plenty of targets in this spot. It’s never easy going against an elite secondary unit like the Jets, but Samuel led the entire NFL in yards after catch per reception (min. 35 targets) last season and could get to this number on only a couple of catches. This is a worthwhile risk on Monday Night Football.
