This week’s NFL action will begin with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. This intra-division affair is slated for an 8:15 pm ET kickoff from Lambeau Field.

Sam LaPorta o4.5 Receptions (+120), PointsBet
We have all been warned about trusting rookie tight ends to produce offensively, but Sam LaPorta refuses to be lumped into the historical struggles of his peers at his position. To begin the year, LaPorta has collected 18 catches in three games – with zero games of fewer than five receptions. The Green Bay Packers have allowed at least five receptions to the tight end position in two of their three games so far in 2023. At plus money, this is a worthwhile stab.
Christian Watson o38.5 Receiving Yards (-115), BetMGM
Last season, Christian Watson had at least 46 receiving yards in seven of his final eight regular season contests. There are obvious concerns about his health in this matchup, in addition to the fact that he will be catching passes from a new quarterback in 2023. Still, this is simply too low of a market number for someone with as much talent as Watson, who should immediately become the team’s top option in the passing game. Even if Jordan Love struggles tonight, Watson should see his fair share of looks, which gives this prop value at such a low number.

Jordan Love Less Than 234.5 Passing Yards, PrizePicks
Through three weeks, the Detroit Lions have generated a top-nine pressure rate among 32 teams twice. In Week 1, the Lions had a 36.9% pressure rate against the Kansas City Chiefs. Last weekend, the Lions had a 32.8% pressure rate against the Atlanta Falcons. Tonight, the Lions will get to face a Green Bay Packers offensive line that will be without two starting offensive linemen. Jordan Love has struggled under pressure so far this year, completing only 4-of-16 pass attempts for 78 yards. Expect him to struggle this evening, and for him to have trouble amassing too many passing yards through the air.
