2024 Memorial Tournament Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, and at times, winds will be a bit of an issue.

ComboPGAcomparison

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Memorial Tournament Weather Forecast

Thursday, June 6th

Light early morning winds between 5-10 mph. Gradually building to winds near 15 mph sustained and gusts over 20 mph in the afternoon.

Friday, June 7th

Again starting with 5-10 mph winds, but this time building to a bit over 15 mph, with gusts over 25 mph by the afternoon.

Saturday, June 8th

I think the overall trend holds, that being lighter AM winds and breezy afternoon conditions. A chance for some showers and storms.

Sunday, June 9th

Same pattern. Lighter morning winds, with stronger winds in the afternoon. A chance for rain.

Memorial Tournament Weather Thoughts

As a general rule, early mornings will be the ideal tee time. The fact that we see the same pattern every day means I don’t see much of a wave advantage, though I suppose I have the slightest of leans towards a Thursday PM / Friday AM pairing, as it will allow you to steer clear of the strongest winds Friday afternoon.
