Million Dollar Musings: Friday, April 26th

Is your lineup Premium Approved? In this space, CheeseIsGood, STLCardinals84, or fathalpert will break down the slate from top-to-bottom like no one else in the industry can – exploring the matchups from every angle, steering you toward the best plays on the day, and helping you become a better and more complete DFS player as you continually expose yourself to the “process” and the “why,” rather than just looking at the “what.” Have a boat? We’ll teach you how to fish.

Friday, April 26th

Happy Friday! We’ve got a loaded 15-game slate tonight, with the weather taking center stage on the East Coast. There is rain in the forecast in Washington, Philadelphia, Boston and New York, and two of those games feature the two best pitchers on the slate. I’m going to go through the analysis as if all these games will play, but at this time in the morning, I am building my initial lineups as if pitchers will not be useable in Boston, New York and Philly, which would leave Jacob deGrom and Charlie Morton off the list. If that is the way things turn out, the good news is those were the two more difficult matchups for the top pitchers, so those would be the ones to lose, while hopefully Washington will clear up for Max.

Right now, my model has Martin Perez as the highest point/$ pitcher. I think my model and I should see other people.

Dating a model always seems like a fun idea, but really, how often does it work out?

  • johnnypopsicles

As often as a Chris Tillman quality start (though every Chris Tillman start was quality).

    Is the hitting posted yet?

  • Strikeouts

Doesn’t look like it and it’s 10:30pm in Latvia. Cheese is worth the wait though.

Edit: Nevermind, there it is now.

I had posted it earlier, and somehow managed to make it disappear for a few minutes. Should be fixed now, sorry.

Am I crazy or do you like Kolten Wong every Cardinals slate?

  • brannigan73

No worry at all that Scherzer will get yanked after five innings or so just as a precuationary measure especially if they get a few run lead? 12k is a lot for a pitcher even one as great as Mad Max.

I think I’ve only mentioned him this specifically twice all year. Both when facing a fly ball righty. But, I certainly mention him at least in passing a lot of days. He’s good.

No. Anything is possible, but there’s been no indication whatsoever from the team that he would be limited. He hasn’t thrown less than 96 pitches all year, so for me, he’s the same tonight as any other night.

Cheese. Do you bump up the offenses in the ATL- COL game based off the weather edge data. It’s off the charts high .

No, that has been fixed. That was a one-game sample size that was showing that huge edge. They added a few more games to get a little more sample size and its come down. It’s still one of the better weather games of the night, but it’s not that high.
