Friday, April 27th

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the most loaded MLB slate I have seen in years. Every extreme is covered from high end pitchers to the gassiest of can. We’ve got stacks, we’ve got home runs, we’ve got expensive and cheap players at every position. We have pitchers with upside in all pricing tiers, and yet through it all, we’ve got 14 games that are all clustered right around the same projected totals.
Let’s start digging in and see what happens.

ALL THE PITCHING ON FRIDAY NIGHT

I’m going to talk about 20 pitchers here (TOOOO MANY), and honestly, I could mention even more. If you read through this, I will make it as clear as possible which guys are on and off my list, and I will make it more succinct in the cliff notes section.

THE FOUR HORESMEN

I assume all these guys can ride horses, they can certainly pitch:

Corey Kluber vs Seattle – We’ve seen a little bit of up and down in the strikeouts for Kluber this season, but there is no questioning his status as an elite real-life ace. And despite a few underwhelming starts by his standards, he still has a 13-K eight inning shutout on his ledger this season to remind us of that upside. But from looking at the overall numbers for the past few seasons, I suppose I would have to say that it’s possible that the 34% strikeout rate from 2017 is the outlier. If we look around it, we see 27.7% K in 2015, 26.4% K in 2016 and 27.4% K so far this season.
