Friday, May 4th
We’ve got a full 15-game slate on tap for tonight, with a lot of everything. We have good pitching, we have good hitting, all we’re missing is Chris Tillman. Seriously, how bad is that guy! OK, on to Friday Night!
FRIDAY NIGHT ON THE MOUND
THE ACE
Gerrit Cole at Arizona – Cole has given us no reason to doubt his early season success, racking up yet another double-digit strikeout performance in his last start, already his fourth of the season. His 39.4% strikeout rate is the highest in all of baseball this season and he’s got an elite 5.2% walk rate to go along with it, rendering him almost unbeatable. The only thing that could even remotely be considered a flaw is his high fly ball rate, but with just average hard contact allowed, in all but the most dangerous power matchups, that isn’t even a flaw.
