MLB DFS Lineup Advice Today

Friday night brings a 10-game slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings, with the first pitch for the slate at 7:05 PM ET. The first game of the night on the main slate is a good one, with the Dodgers taking on the Yankees in New York, and an hour later, we have the battle of the dresser with a Sox-on-Sox matchup in Chicago. Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

The Dodgers are in Yankee Stadium today in a battle of big market teams that have spent large dollar amounts on hitting the past few years (and decades). Cody Poteet has pitched well in his first two starts against the Giants in San Francisco and the Guardians in Cleveland, but neither of those matchups is quite as dangerous as facing the Dodgers, and I particularly like the idea of playing the Dodgers on the road with guaranteed 9th-inning plate appearances in a good ballpark for hitting.

Over his career Poteet has allowed a SLG% much higher to left-handed hitters (.467) than right-handed hitters (.390). Shohei Ohtani is the clear top bat with a .671 SLG% vs RHP this season, but Ohtani can be difficult to get to, particularly on DraftKings where he is $6,500 and the most expensive hitter on the slate. Freddie Freeman is a more affordable alternative at $3,800 on FaDuel and $5,500 on DraftKings. Freeman has a .558 SLG% vs RHP this season and 2 HRs and 2 SBs over his past 4 games.
