MLB DFS Lineup Advice Today

Tuesday night brings one of the most remarkably unremarkable baseball slates that I can remember. There are 13 games and 26 teams in play, but not a single team is projected for 5.0 runs, not a single pitcher with a strikeout prop over 6.5, and no weather concerns on the entire slate. While there are some pretty good pitchers on the mound, there aren’t any very bad pitchers either, making it difficult to find differentiation among the offenses and raising the question of whether the top pitching options are worth spending up on.

Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

The Phillies are my top stack today, with a 4.29 implied run total. That doesn’t seem like much, but it is actually the 6th-highest total on the slate and the best of any road team. Philadelphia is visiting the Braves and RHP Reynaldo Lopez in Atlanta, and Lopez is coming off the IL after last pitching in late July. He has a 2.06 ERA this season, which is excellent, but he was pitching worse just before going on the IL, allowing a .464 SLG% and .347 wOBA in July, after allowing just a .326 SLG% and .274 wOBA in the first half of the season.

Kyle Schwarber is my top bat for Philadelphia with a .244 ISO and .342 wOBA vs. RHP this season. He’s also in a position to maximize his plate appearances since he’s hitting leadoff on the road. Bryce Harper has a .261 ISO and .371 wOBA vs. RHP this season, while Trea Turner adds power and speed from the SS position with 14 HRs and 14 SBs on the season.
