What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I prefer smaller-field tournaments where there might be a little bit of an ownership edge to fading Coors Field, although it’s not likely to be massive chalk in anything. I have a fairly small pool of offenses and pitchers that I want to play in primary lineups, so if I have 3–5 single-entry teams, I can cover all my favorites—Angels, White Sox, Dodgers, and A’s. I am not going to overthink it with Logan Gilbert up top and then will use mostly Jacob Lopez as the cheaper SP2 but will mix in several others in MME.
stevietpfl: I’ll be focusing on single-entry contests. I’m going to fade Coors, which should make my single-entry teams different. I think the A’s are in a great spot. I’ll be overweight on the A’s, Angels, and Dodgers. At pitching, I’ll mostly be playing Logan Gilbert and Jacob Lopez.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – There are several options worth targeting at SP at different price points. I’ll likely build around my bats and plug in my pitchers around a lineup that looks good to me, rather than jam in high-priced pitchers. I don’t love full-stacking the Coors Field game and will likely look elsewhere—to teams like the Dodgers, Angels, and A’s.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I’ll be over the field on Logan Gilbert, with my SP2 being more in flux based on how much salary I have available. If money isn’t a thing, I’ll double barrel with Carlos Rodon. If I’m pinching pennies, Gavin Williams is my first look, with Jacob Lopez as likely the cheapest arm I’m willing to roster. As for offense, I expect to be under the field on the Pirates while being over on the Yankees, Dodgers, and Athletics.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
