What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: There is so much to love out there that I think it has to be at least a little bit of an MME slate. I don’t see any real way to narrow it down to 1 favorite lineup or even 10 favorite lineups. Part of the trick is that I am equally interested in spend-up pitching with value stacks and high-end stacks with value pitching, and even beyond that, I see plenty of ways to build around mini stacks and power-hunting. If I have one overarching thought, it’s that ownership is not going to matter. Maybe Arizona gets a little chalky in single-entry contests, but I really think you can just play whatever you want. Where I think I’ll be overweight is on cheaper pitching on DK without full stacks, but I won’t be chasing as much cheap pitching on FD.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – I will prioritize pitching from several of the West Coast games, where the weather is milder and more conducive to pitching. Hunter Brown and Nick Pivetta are high-strikeout pitchers that I am willing to pay up for, while Clayton Kershaw and Jeffrey Springs are cheaper options I like to use to unlock salary. On the hitting side, Arizona is my top offense, but I won’t be all in on them, as there is some pinch-hit risk and injury concerns that could limit a full stack. Teams like Toronto, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and the Yankees are teams with plenty of potential that should come with much lower ownership in GPPs.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. As someone who doesn’t make a lot of lineups, this slate is genuinely overwhelming with all the potential places to go, and I’d be lying if I said I knew exactly where I’d land with my main lineup right now. What I can say is that I very likely will not run out a full Arizona stack, as the field tends to get a little more risk-averse in single-entry contests. Specifically, I think you are supposed to be under the field on Randal Grichuk, as he looks to be a high pinch-hit risk when a right-handed RP enters the game.
