Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: There is way too much offense that I love to try and narrow things down to a single-entry lineup. I much prefer MME, where I have at least 9 stacks that I love and another 5-6 that I would be very happy to play. Between the high-end bats that I want to prioritize and the likely ownership on Blake Snell, I’m going to be way under the field on Snell, but I will still narrow my pitcher pool in order to spread out with the bats. I will be playing the Logan Gilbert chalk, pairing him on DK with a mix of Shota Imanaga, Foster Griffin, Ranger Suarez, and Will Warren. While I would call the Cardinals the top offense, they aren’t head and shoulders above the rest of the top tier, so I’ll come in under the field on them as well.

ebeimfohr: I am sticking with smaller-field, single-entry tournaments with one pretty clear direction. There are some stacks projecting for extremely low ownership, like the Mariners, who have an elite matchup and upside, but there are not many great pivots from the chalky pitchers. I plan to focus my pitching around the Logan Gilbert, Blake Snell, and Ranger Suarez trio and get off the beaten path with my bats and stacks.

boggslite: I’m playing single-entry tournaments. As good as the hitting is, I will prioritize pitching, since I do not like any of the cheaper options. I like Logan Gilbert‘s matchup and price, and I will pair him with either Blake Snell or Shota Imanaga (if I need salary relief). I’m not going to get cute with my bats and will be overweight on St. Louis due to a great matchup in Coors Field, but I prefer their cheaper options to pay up for pitching.

Dean78904: I focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. Despite a large slate, I expect my pitcher pool to be fairly exclusive. Ideally, I won’t have to stray from Logan Gilbert, Blake Snell, or Shota Imanaga. If my single-entry lineup looks too chalky, I’ll consider swapping to Nolan McLean, as I suspect he’ll be significantly less popular than Gilbert and Snell. I expect to get to some Cardinals in Coors Field, but I don’t anticipate completing a full stack, as I’m more likely to fill out my lineup with a combination of Royals, Twins, and Blue Jays.
