MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, July 29
Who is your favorite pitcher for cash games?
SquirrelPatrol: Paul Skenes
headChopper: Paul Skenes
ebeimfohr: Paul Skenes
eys819: Paul Skenes
Who is your favorite hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
SquirrelPatrol: Cal Raleigh – I’ll take one of the top hitters in baseball at a price and pOWN% discount because people don’t realize how good he is. Raleigh ranks 2nd in ISO (behind only Aaron Judge) and 7th in SLG% (if you look only at away games for every hitter). I like the entire Mariners offense against Nick Pivetta and his 1.61 HR/9, and Raleigh is my top hitter on the day for price and pOWN%.
headChopper: Ketel Marte – Baseball is played in cycles for hitters where they can run hot and cold throughout the grind. Recognizing guys in those stages can aid you in roster construction. Marte is in a hot phase right now. He has 4 home runs in his last 5 starts. He’s always been a little better against LHPs, and Parker is league-average at best right now. Parker has given up 5 or more runs in 3 of his last 4 starts. Marte also gives you a big hitter at a weak second base, while most will spend up at shortstop with those elite bats all playing.

ebeimfohr: Oneil Cruz – With the expected ownership discount at SS from Bobby Witt, I’m siding with Cruz. He has elite statcast numbers but struggles with strikeouts. Rookie Jake Bloss has been brutal against lefties so far in the bigs, with just a 13% K rate while allowing a .461 wOBA and .310 xISO. The Astros also have just 2 lefties in their pen, with one having pitched on back-to-back days.
eys819: Ketel Marte – He has destroyed LHP this season with a .354 ISO and 14.9% barrel rate while striking out just 14.9% of the time. It is hard to find that type of upside at a generally weak 2B position. The matchup is good against Mitchell Parker, who has allowed a .179 ISO and 8.9% barrel rate to righties with just 19.5% strikeouts.
