MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, April 4
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
CheeseIsGood: Kyle Schwarber
Bobby Gomes: Kyle Schwarber
TJ Zwarych: Kyle Schwarber
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I prefer small-field tournaments tonight, where we should have very clear chalk that could reach a silly level in single-entry tournaments. Of course I like the Phillies, but I am willing to fade full stacks and hope that their scoring is spread out enough that they can be beaten with a combo of Mariners and high-end one-offs that are flying under the radar. Pitching is weak enough that I’m not going to overthink the Ryan Weathers chalk on DK, but I will look to pair him with some off-the-board SP2s rather than just going with Jesus Luzardo. My favorites are Kumar Rocker and Landen Roupp.
Bobby Gomes: Typically, I play large-field tournaments, and early in the season, my player pool will be deeper. I will be loading up on the Phillies, Mariners, and Yankees. Pitchers have the advantage early on, and I can save some salary paying down for pitching. Michael Soroka, Ryan Weathers, and Emerson Hancock are all cheap. There are also value pieces to incorporate in my three favorite stacks. This will allow me to pay up for other more expensive bats.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to get significantly underweight on Jesus Luzardo if his projected ownership stays incredibly high throughout the day. I’ll be going cheap at pitching and paying up for the expensive bats in Coors and for Seattle.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
