MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, May 2

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stlcardinals84: Kevin McGonigle
Krayton: Matt Olson
Bobby Gomes: Matt Olson

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in the larger-field tournaments. With Chase Dollander starting to get some buzz as a cheap pitching option, I’ll be fading him while still loading up on the Atlanta bats in Coors Field. I plan to be significantly underweight on the Dodgers as well. Those are the two biggest stands I am taking, while I also plan to go heavy on Chris Sale over Nolan McLean as my SP1 choice.

Krayton: I will be playing my usual single-entry and 20-max contests on both sites. Even though Chris Sale is pitching in Coors Field, he will be my highest-owned pitcher. The Braves and the Dodgers are my top stacks even though they are going to be popular. I will get different by targeting a lower-owned stack in the White Sox.

Bobby Gomes: Typically, I play large-field tournaments, and early in the season, my player pool will be deeper. I will be loading up on Dodgers, Mets, and Padres, and I will have light exposure to the Braves. Chase Dollander has been spectacular to start the season, and the Braves at Coors will be popular. I want to create some leverage by being heavy on Dollander and underweight on the Braves (despite having some exposure).

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
