What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be making 3 entries in high-dollar, smaller-field GPP contests. I plan to make a chalkier entry with Padres bats and JT Ginn at pitcher, while I will swerve to a Braves and Twins stack with my other lineups. I like the way a Twins stack comes together with expensive pitching, and I’m taking a stand on this matchup for the Braves, as they face a scuffling Bryce Miller.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be playing one single-entry lineup. I plan to stack up the less chalky side of Coors Field and load up on the Rockies. I like the idea of getting different at pitcher as well, with Hunter Brown and Trevor Rogers looking like really interesting tournament plays for an SP1. JT Ginn is my top cheap option.
tcsmith031: I’ll focus on 20-max tournaments. I’ll get plenty of exposure to both chalky offenses in the SDP/COL game, but I’ll spread things out beyond that. I’ll also be playing both sides of the JT Ginn/LAA matchup. Ginn is cheap enough to make those expensive Padres stacks work, but the Angels’ projected lineup has hit for a lot of power (.190 ISO) against right-handed pitching on the year. Ginn has also been prone to yielding power (11.1% barrels), so the Halos could be a profitable source of direct leverage in larger-field contests.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
