MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, April 5
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
CheeseIsGood: Kyle Schwarber (FD) / Ben Rice (DK)
tcsmith031: Kyle Schwarber (FD) / Aaron Judge (DK)
TJ Zwarych: Kyle Schwarber (FD) / Aaron Judge (DK)
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I prefer larger-field tournaments today, as I have several different pitchers and offenses closely bunched together, and I want to be able to spread out among them. On FD, while I’m not fading Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, I am willing to fade or go underweight on full Phillies stacks, as I prefer the Yankees ahead of them (weather permitting). I also like the Red Sox (weather permitting), and then I want to get to Blue Jays, Pirates, and Twins stacks fairly early on, with the Dodgers and Cubs also on my wish list. At pitcher, I will have at least Chase Burns, Edward Cabrera, and Jack Leiter in primary lineups.
tcsmith031: I’ll play both single-entry and 20-max GPPs. I’d like to stack BOS and NYY as much as possible, weather permitting. If we lose one or both of those games, the Blue Jays will vault to the top of my board against Davis Martin, while I think PIT, TBR, and WAS are interesting sources of cheaper value. The dicey weather will likely force me to reduce or eliminate my Max Fried exposure. Fortunately, Chase Burns, Jack Leiter, and Edward Cabrera are all decent alternatives at similar price points. I’ll also naturally get to quite a bit more LAD than I’m currently planning if BOS and NYY get rained out.
TJ Zwarych: My preference is single-entry contests tonight, and my strategy is very weather and site dependent. The Dodgers and Yankees have the highest implied run totals on DK, but both of the games may not play due to rain. On FD, I’ll double-stack the Coors game so I don’t have to worry about any potential washouts. On DK, I like going with the Blue Jays, who are primed for a breakout game against a low-strikeout pitcher after their slow start.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
