What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in the larger-field contests. My approach will be different depending on what site you are playing on. On FanDuel, it is difficult to ignore the Coors Field game with a total of 13 runs, and I will get different on FD by going cheaper at pitcher with Will Warren and by using some lower-owned one-off bats around my Coors Field stacks. On DK, the slate is a little more difficult, and I like going with some cheaper, lower-owned stacks like the White Sox and Twins in a few builds.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-entry max contests. I like narrowing my pitching pool, as Garrett Crochet and Will Warren are the pitchers I will be heavily overweight on. I will be leaning into the Coors Game on FanDuel, as I will be overweight the field with exposure to both sides of the game. On DraftKings, the Yankees and Red Sox are my favorite stacks to build around.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. Early in the morning, I like the idea of hitting the lock button on Garrett Crochet. He’s going to be highly owned, but there are no other pitching options that look any good. Eovaldi is the only other stud pitcher, but he finds himself in an awful matchup.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
