MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, August 2

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stlcardinals84: Hunter Goodman (FD) / Yordan Alvarez (DK)
Krayton: Hunter Goodman (FD) / CJ Abrams (DK)
TJ Zwarych: Elly De La Cruz

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: I am going a little lighter with my entries and will be playing 8-10 entries in the large-field tournaments. This is a very strange slate where your rosters will look much different depending on the site you are playing, as FD has added the Coors Field game and the MIL/LAA game (which has Jacob Misiorowski pitching). I like being overweight on Gerrit Cole and Griffin Jax at pitcher, while the Nationals and Rockies (on FD) will be my top stacks.

Krayton: I will be playing 20-max and single-entry contests on both sites. On FD, I will be overweight on the Colorado Rockies. On DK, I will be focused on the Reds and the Nationals. Griffin Jax and Gerrit Cole are my top pitching targets, and Colin Rea is one of my favorite value plays. On FD, Jacob Misiorowski will be in my pitching pool.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to get overweight on both pitchers in Wrigley Field while mixing and matching my offenses. The Reds, Nationals, and Braves will be my priorities, but I’ll get pieces of most teams on this slate while keeping my pitcher pool tight.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
