MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, August 25

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: This slate is so thin for pitching, and I don’t expect any slate-breaking scores in that department today. I think you can play it safe and take some of the chalk pitchers, with a goal to differentiate your lineups with the bats. I will be significantly overweight on stacks of the Royals, Phillies, and Yankees.

Krayton: This is a tougher pitching slate, and there isn’t much that I love. I am going to build the stacks I like first and then see where I land for pitching. I am apt to take risks with my pitching pool, with Marcus Stroman being one of my highest owned due to the great matchup, and we have seen him have a couple of respectable starts. There are many attractive spots for the bats, with the Yankees in an elite spot. A few lower owned stacks I like are CIN, CHC, and ARI.

tcsmith031: Because I’ll be eating the pitching chalk given the lack of appealing options, I’ll have to get different with my bats. It’s terrifying, but I’ll be well south of the field on what looks like a chalky Yankees stack. Fortunately, we’ve got plenty of viable alternatives with high implied run totals, including the Royals, Phillies, Red Sox, and Tigers.

TJ Zwarych: This is a pretty weak pitching slate, with multiple options who are just fine, but no one really standing out above the rest. I’ll still have some Gausman and Assad, but I also plan to get overweight on lower owned pitchers like Erick Fedde, Zebby Matthews, and Matthew Boyd in MME.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
