MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, July 5
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
CheeseIsGood: Junior Caminero
Krayton: Junior Caminero
TJ Zwarych: Kyle Schwarber
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I prefer large-field tournaments. There is a pretty spread-out top tier of offenses, and there are a ton of individual bats I want to be sure to get into my pool. On DK, I’ll mostly be leaning toward cheaper pitching to be able to fit in as many of those spend-up bats as I can get. This will have me playing a lot of Cade Cavalli and mixing and matching other cheap pitchers. On FD, we have a smaller slate and no pitchers above $9,800. I’ll lean more toward Ryan Weathers and Casey Mize there, and on both sites, I’ll spread out pretty far with my stacks.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-max contests on both DK and FD. I will be prioritizing cheap pitching options on both sites, with Cade Cavalli leading the way on DK. On FD, I’m interested in Casey Mize and Ryan Weathers if spending up there. I am looking to spend up on my stacks and bats, and playing the cheaper pitching options allows me to do so.
TJ Zwarych: My preference is to build 150 lineups in large-field tournaments. I’ll be fading a lot of the pitchers projecting for a lot of ownership, like Joe Ryan and both pitchers in the BAL/CIN game on DK. Since I’ll be using a lot of cheap pitching, I’ll prioritize spend-up bats like Kyle Schwarber, Junior Caminero, and James Wood on DK.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
