What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in the larger-field tournaments. There are a lot of ace pitchers going, and I plan to be the most overweight on Garrett Crochet in GPP builds. His perceived difficult matchup against the Braves will keep ownership in check with so many other options available, but Crochet still has the highest strikeout prop of any pitcher, and the Braves have not met expectations offensively this season. I will also look to differentiate with some lower-owned stacks, with the Blue Jays and Red Sox being my favorite in that bucket.
Krayton: I will be playing 20 entries on both sites and playing single-entry contests. Clay Holmes is my top pitcher due to the great matchup against the Rockies. Gavin Williams is one of my favorite value pitchers, as he has a 6.5 K prop facing the Angels. It’s a similar slate to yesterday. The Mets, Orioles, and Blue Jays are grading out as top stacks and I will have them in my pool while also adding the Phillies and Cubs.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll play 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. I’ll try to narrow my stacks down as much as possible so I can spread out among the elite pitchers. Clay Holmes is the top option against the Rockies, but Gavin Williams provides nice salary savings. Hunter Brown, Garrett Crochet, Kevin Gausman, Kris Bubic, and Jacob deGrom all have massive upside.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
