MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, April 16

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

headChopper: Aaron Judge
stevietpfl: Aaron Judge
Notorious: Aaron Judge

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

headChopper: I am making 1 lineup in small-field tournaments on DraftKings and 50 lineups in large-field tournaments on FanDuel. The extra game over there should spread the ownership out just a touch, with enough options to make it worth my while. While I like certain pitchers, I don’t think there is a ton of separation between them – at least not enough to warrant the big pOWN% discrepancies – so I will spread around my pitcher exposure on FanDuel. More than likely, I’ll look at playing Yankees stacks over the field and then chase home runs with one-offs in the rest of my roster spots.

stevietpfl: I’m going to build 3-5 lineups in small-field contests. On FanDuel, I like both the Rangers and the A’s. I prefer the Rangers stack over the Yankees stack over there but will have a lot of exposure to the Yankees. I will be monitoring the weather in Detroit, which will decide if I play Kris Bubic or not. Max Fried is apparently going to be massive chalk, and he’s an average-strikeout pitcher at best. As much as I want to be underweight on him, it will be tough if the weather in Detroit doesn’t get better. Instead, I’ll be looking for stacks projecting for lower ownership to pair with the Yankees, Brewers, Rangers, A’s, and Blue Jays.

Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. You don’t have to be perfect in these contests and can afford to eat more chalk. I’m going to fully stack the Yankees in my main DK lineup and let the field take their chances fading them. They let us down last night, but they are at home and likely facing either Jose Urena or Walbert Urena (both are great matchups). To get a little different on FanDuel, I like the idea of including a batter or two from the A’s.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
