What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I’m just taking a stab at some large-field GPPs. The difference-maker for me is getting away from the Logan Gilbert / Paul Skenes build. Judging by early pOWN%, that combo looks like it’ll be massively chalky. I prefer Gilbert paired with a cheaper option to get different. I won’t set any rules for stacking—on a small slate like this, with the pitching setup, any stacking I do will be organic (and there will be stacking).
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I’ll roster at least one of Paul Skenes or Logan Gilbert in every DK lineup (if not both). If I need to save salary, I’m good with both Brady Singer and Eury Perez. I have zero interest in Shane Smith or Carlos Carrasco. As for offense, I’m not opposed to it, but I don’t anticipate getting to full stacks. I will be homer hunting, which will likely lead me to 3-2-2 / 3-3-1-1 type of lineup constructions.
ebeimfohr: I think super small slates like today’s 3-gamer lend themselves very well to being super contrarian. The chalk — especially on the hitting side—condenses to extreme levels, generally because of what people are doing at pitcher. I’ll be playing a max of one of Paul Skenes / Logan Gilbert, while playing at least one of Eury Perez and Brady Singer, and pairing them with lower-pOWN% bats — including a bat or two against Gilbert in lineups without him.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
