MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, May 14

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

headChopper: Nick Kurtz
stevietpfl: Nick Kurtz
Notorious: Nick Kurtz

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

headChopper: I prefer large-field tournaments. I don’t think there is a standout stack today, so I want to spread out my stacks amongst several teams, being underweight on the Seattle stack, which is the highest implied team total on the slate. I actually like the opposing stack in that game against Luis Castillo just as much, which gives you an idea of how spread out my stacks can go. On FanDuel, I will focus on Nolan McLean and Chase Burns, but on DraftKings, I can go just about anywhere with my SP2. I’ll get different on DK by just not pairing Burns and McLean together.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments on this slate. I think there are 3 to 4 clear top stacks for me, with 2 to 3 high-upside pitchers. I’m going to be overweight on Chase Burns and Nolan McLean. For bats, I want to play the Athletics, Mariners, Cardinals, and Marlins. I’ll use the Astros and Twins as some secondary stacks. I’ll be underweight on the Pirates, as they’re projecting for some high pOWN%. With 7 games, I’m not going to be too concerned with ownership and will just build the stacks I like.

Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. We generally have to choose between expensive pitching and expensive hitting, but that’s not the case on this slate. We have a ton of strong cheap value plays that make it possible to spend up on pitchers and on a few hitters. I’m going to eat the chalk with Chase Burns and Nolan McLean, and I’m going to stack the Athletics.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
