What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I’m playing mostly small fields with limited entries, but I’ll always sprinkle in the flagship GPPs. With such a small slate, it’s going to be tough to get away from some of the chalk, but in baseball it’s easier to get different. Instead of 4- and 5-man stacks—which will be heavily skewed toward Atlanta and Milwaukee—I feel good about going with a 3-2-2 or similar build. That approach gets me off the full chalk stack while still allowing a skinny stack from a lower-owned team to give me some leverage.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. Kevin Roth gave BAL/BOS a RED, so I’m pretending that game doesn’t exist, barring an optimistic update. Ideally, my pitching pool will only consist of Jack Flaherty, AJ Smith-Shawver, and Tanner Bibee. If my lineup doesn’t have one of those pitchers, I like the idea of attacking them with one-offs or mini stacks. There is no MUST-roster offense today, but we still might get some condensed ownership. Assuming this plays out, I love high-upside players like Cal Raleigh and Jose Ramirez as potential single-entry lineup separators.
ebeimfohr: I love targeting smaller-field, single-entry tournaments on small slates like this. We have extremely condensed chalk around one or maybe two offenses, and the most popular combos of arms and bats become more over-owned than on a larger slate. That’s the case tonight, where we can fade a top stack like the Braves and possibly even the Brewers and move to some lower-owned options that do not project THAT much worse in SimLabs.
