MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, May 28
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Pete Alonso
stevietpfl: Taylor Ward
Notorious: Pete Alonso
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I prefer small-field tournaments today. This is such a small slate, and pOWN% looks very condensed. I think the thing I keep coming back to here is stacking one team (Baltimore for me) in some form, whether that’s a 3-man, 4-man, or 5-man stack, and then taking the other roster spots and just picking some one-offs from other teams. I also do not mind having a hitter going against my pitcher today since my pitchers will be chalk. That is a great way to get unique on this small slate.
stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on single-entry contests. With a small slate and a lack of stacks I like, I’m going to build around the three offenses I like. Baltimore, Toronto, and Pittsburgh will be the main options for me. I’m going to build 1-3 lineups with the focus around 4-2-2 and 3-3-2 stacks using those offenses. I’m going to eat the chalk at pitcher with Paul Skenes, Nathan Eovaldi, and Spencer Arrighetti. I’m hoping that my roster construction not being a full stack helps separate my builds.
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. I’m going to be different from most of the field (especially in small-field tournaments) because I’m taking my chances with a fade of Paul Skenes. His numbers on the season are elite, but he has struggled in his last few starts, and I rarely target pitchers who are facing the Cubs. Chicago has one of the most potent offenses in baseball (7 hitters in their projected lineup have a .325+ xwOBA against RHP), and they strike out at a low rate.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
